Way of the Warrior in Japanese is 武士道 which is read bushidō
武士道 (bushidō): the way of the warrior.
武士道 has had two lives, and both are on the word. In the older it names the conduct proper to a samurai, and in Edo fiction and on the stage his honor, which stands or falls. In the later it is the name of a national ethic, which Nitobe Inazō carried into English as chivalry. 道 is a way in the sense of 茶道 and 書道: the practice and conduct that belong to a calling. Whether you hang it in a dojo, a study or a home is yours.
The word is first known from the 甲陽軍鑑, the military chronicle of the Takeda house, written in the early seventeenth century and first printed in 1656; the sense of a national code of ethics, which English renders as chivalry, was given to it in Meiji, between the late 1870s and 1900.

About Our Scrolls
Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase brushes your scroll by hand when you order it. Each scroll bears her red seal, 英利, and her signature.
The scrolls are 12 1/4" W × 43" H (31 × 109 cm), with woven damask borders and layered Japanese paper, designed to last generations. The scrolls themselves are made by a scroll maker in Gifu, Japan, and we have worked with them for over two decades.
Eri Takase was born and raised in Osaka, Japan, and holds the rank of Shihan, the highest rank in Japanese calligraphy, from the Bokuteki-kai and the Bunka-shodo. About Master Takase
