一心不乱

Single-Minded Concentration
Single-minded concentration: the whole mind on one thing, with nothing else taking it, in four characters found in the Amida Sutra.
Master Takase creates this beautiful scroll when your order is placed, personally preparing the ink and brushing your art, which proudly bears her signature and seal. This is an original work of art.
Description
一心不乱 (isshin furan) is word for word one mind, not disordered.
The phrase is everyday Japanese, and a Japanese dictionary gives praying and studying as its examples of doing a thing single-mindedly.
In the Amida Sutra, the phrase says how Amida's name is held: for one to seven days, with one mind, not scattered. Hisao Inagaki's English of 2003 reads with a concentrated and undistracted mind.
Two Japanese dictionaries mark a Buddhist sense as the older one: making the mind one and taking refuge in the Buddha. Today the dictionaries lead with the general sense.
A phrase of Chinese Buddhist translation, in use by 286 and found in Kumārajīva's translation of the Amida Sutra, about 402, one of the principal sutras recited in China and Japan, and quoted in Japan by 984.
