Born and raised in Osaka, Japan, Eri Takase received the rank of Shihan, master, from two calligraphy societies, the Bokuteki-kai and Bunka-shodō, and won best-of-category awards in all-Japan national competitions. In a ritual as old as calligraphy itself, Master Takase prepares the ink, meditatively rubbing the ink stick against the stone until it reaches the perfect consistency for the paper. Then, properly loading the brush with ink, she brushes your scroll. And only when the scroll is just right and meets her approval, she signs it and affixes her seal, completing your original scroll.

Explanation
The Lord is my strength: a psalm's own words, the opening of a verse that goes on, my song, and he has become my salvation, so the words carry the first clause. The words are the Japan Bible Society's colloquial Bible's, with 我 written where that Bible prints わ, so a reader who owns that Bible will open it and find the same sentence. 主 is the Lord, that Bible's word for the divine name; the Protestant Bible from 1887 until 1955 wrote the divine name in kana, ヱホバ. The first churches to say 主 here were the Orthodox, in print from 1884, where the words were a chant of the liturgy, and the Anglican, from 1899. The English is the clause as the King James begins the verse.
