神の加護 (kami no kago): God bless you, God's protection.

God bless you: the wish a Japanese speaker sends someone off with, and the four characters say a little more than the English does, God's protection, the keeping that carries a person through. Which God the characters do not say, so the same four serve a church, a temple and a shrine, and the reader brings their own.

The Japanese phrase "kami no kago" meaning "God Bless You" is composed of the words 神 (read kami) meaning "God; god" and 加護 (read kago) meaning "blessing; divine protection". This is used as a prayer to God for a Blessing or for Divine Protection. The object is not specified so this is literally "God Bless" and can equally mean "God Bless You" or "God Bless Me" or be a general reference to "God's Blessings".

Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase brushes your scroll by hand when you order it. Each scroll bears her red seal, 英利, and her signature.

The scrolls are 12 1/4" W × 43" H (31 × 109 cm) with real silk borders and Japanese paper that are layered so the scroll hangs straight and will not warp over time. The scrolls themselves are made by Sankō (株式会社三幸) in Gifu prefecture, which has been making high quality scrolls since 1947, and we have worked with Sankō for over two decades.
