信仰と希望と愛 (shinkō to kibō to ai): faith, hope and love.
Faith, hope and love: the three that last, in the order every Bible keeps, and the verse goes on to say which of them is the greatest, so the words carry the three and a person who chooses them knows the answer. The words are the Japan Bible Society's colloquial Bible's, character for character, and the older classical Bible had the same three words in the same order, so a reader who owns either Bible will find it there. The English title is the New International Version's; the King James calls the third charity, and 愛 is both. Which of the three is yours to hold most is yours.

About Our Scrolls
Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase brushes your scroll by hand when you order it. Each scroll bears her red seal, 英利, and her signature.
The scrolls are 12 1/4" W × 43" H (31 × 109 cm) with woven damask borders and Japanese paper that are layered so the scroll hangs straight and will not warp over time. The scrolls themselves are made by a scroll maker in Gifu, Japan, and we have worked with them for over two decades.
Eri Takase was born and raised in Osaka, Japan, and holds the rank of Shihan, the highest rank in Japanese calligraphy, from the Bokuteki-kai and the Bunka-shodo. About Master Takase
