More about 人生良好
人生良好 reads as a report that all is well: life, in good condition. 良好 is the word of the report card and the hospital chart, so to a Japanese eye the four characters are a status line, life: good. It is nearer to all systems go than to a sigh of contentment. It is plain and cheerful, the way the English is.
人生良好 is a sentence for a life where things are going right, or for someone for whom they have started to.
人生良好 is composed of the words 人生 (read jinsei) meaning "life" and 良好 (read ryōkō) meaning "good; favorable".
House Japanese for the English Life is Good: 人生, life, set beside 良好, the word for a thing in good condition. No Japanese book or dictionary prints the four characters as a phrase; the house's design of it is on record from January 2011, and one other calligraphy seller's page offers it by 2015.
We want you to be as happy with the meaning as you are with Master Takase's art. To learn more, visit Philology of 人生良好.
About the Designs
Each design is Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase's hand-brushed calligraphy of the word or phrase on this page, delivered as a PDF you can print. Every PDF includes the line art, so a tattoo artist or a craftsperson can work from the outline as well as the brushed image. The line art prints sharp at any size. The brushed image is sized to print at the dimensions shown on the PDF, so for a larger piece, work from the line art.
