Description

一匹狼 (ippikiōkami): lone wolf.

一匹狼 is a lone wolf in the same sense as the English: a loner, a person who stands on their own. The words are literal, one wolf, and Japanese uses them for people just as English does.

The Japanese word 一匹狼 meaning "Lone Wolf" is composed of the words 一匹 (read ippiki) meaning "single (animal)" and 狼 (read ōkami) meaning "wolf".
