Block or kaisho (楷書) Fonts are the most common and recognizable fonts. Block fonts are easily read and are noted for their angular form and their vertical and horizontal lines.
Description
子供の為に (kodomo no tame ni): for the sake of the children. 子供 kodomo is a child or the children, one or many; の為に no tame ni is for the sake of, the purposive sense with the older sense of benefit behind it; the verb is left off, as in the English, and what one does for them is the reader's. Japanese drops the possessor, so the line holds my children and our children at once. It is older than a buyer would guess: a mother in a Chikamatsu play of 1718 feigns illness for her children's sake, and the 1891 translation of Little Lord Fauntleroy gives the words to Cedric's mother.
About Our Scrolls

Eri Takase was born and raised in Osaka, Japan, and holds the rank of Shihan, the highest rank in Japanese calligraphy, from the Bokuteki-kai and the Bunka-shodo. About Master Takase

Master Takase personally brushes your Japanese scroll when you order. Each scroll proudly bears her red seal, 英利, and her signature.

The scrolls are 12 1/4" W × 43" H (31 × 109 cm) with real silk borders and Japanese paper that are layered so the scroll hangs straight and will not warp over time. The scrolls themselves are made by Sankō (株式会社三幸) in Gifu prefecture, which has been making high quality scrolls since 1947, and we have worked with Sankō for over two decades.
