羊 hitsuji Sheep

The Japanese word hitsuji translates as "sheep" and is a single kanji word. With the right context hitsuji can refer to the "Year of the Sheep". However, if you are looking for "Year of the Sheep" as a stand-alone design and want no possible ambiguity then consider using Year of the Sheep (hitsujidoshi).
