The Lord is my strength: a psalm's own words, the opening of a verse that goes on, my song, and he has become my salvation, so the words carry the first clause and a person who chooses them can say the rest. The words are the Japan Bible Society's colloquial Bible's, with 我 written where that Bible prints わ, so a reader who owns that Bible will open it and find the same sentence. 主 is the Lord, that Bible's word for the divine name; the older classical Bible wrote the name itself, Jehovah. The English is the verse's own, the same in the King James and the New International. Whose strength, and for whom, is yours.
