沖縄剛柔流 (okinawa gōjūryū)
沖縄剛柔流 (okinawa gōjūryū). Okinawa's own Gōjū-ryū: 剛柔 gōjū, hard and soft, is the name Miyagi Chōjun gave his school in 1930, and 沖縄 Okinawa in front marks the lineage that stayed on the island when the style spread to the mainland and abroad. 流 ryū is a school. An Okinawan history of 1941 already names Miyagi of the Gōjū-ryū as the authority in the prefecture, the senior pupil of Higaonna Kanryō of Naha. The design brushes the five characters as the school writes them.
