国際和道流 kokusai wadōryū International Wadoryu

国際 kokusai is international; 和道 wadō, the way of harmony, is the name Ōtsuka Hironori gave his style in the 1930s; 流 ryū is a school. The string is the house's own Japanese for an English name, written character by character in the English order, for the students of a federation that names itself in English. The Wadō International Karate-Do Federation, founded by Suzuki Tatsuo, who had taught the style in London since 1965, puts 和道 first in its own Japanese, 和道国際空手道連盟.
