Forever in My Heart

永遠に心の中に (eien ni kokoro no naka ni)

永遠に心の中に (eien ni kokoro no naka ni): forever in the heart. 永遠に eien ni is the adverb forever, 心 kokoro the heart as the seat of feeling, 中に naka ni inside it; the verb is left off, as it is on a headstone or a card in either language. Japanese drops the possessor when it is obvious, so this is the more natural Japanese, and the closer copy of the English is Forever in My Heart (eien ni watashi no kokoro ni), the same sentence with my spelled out. Both lines are what the language produces whenever grief or gratitude needs a sentence. 永遠 keeps a slight formality in Japanese, the word of philosophy and of the hymnal, so the line reads a little higher than its English.

This artwork is a perfect wedding gift or paper anniversary gift and is a beautiful visual reminder of that special someone's place in your heart.

永遠に私の心に (eien ni watashi no kokoro ni)

永遠に私の心に (eien ni watashi no kokoro ni): forever in my heart. 永遠に eien ni, forever; 私の watashi no, my; 心に kokoro ni, in the heart; a sentence with the verb left off, which is how such things are said on stone. This is the older of the two forms in print, on three pages from 1926 to 1941, each a different heart. The version without my, Forever in My Heart (eien ni kokoro no naka ni), is what a Japanese hand would more often write, since the language drops a possessor it can assume; this one keeps the my an English speaker will look for. 永遠 is the word Meiji Japan chose for eternity when it began translating the West, and it has not lost that size.
