Description
愛は全てを完全に結ぶ帯である (ai wa subete wo kanzen ni musubu obi de aru): love is the sash that binds everything together in completeness. It is Colossians 3:14 in the Japan Bible Society's colloquial translation of 1955, and the sash, 帯, is the verse's own picture, following the clause before it: over all these things, put on love. The classical Japanese Bible of 1917 read the same Greek another way, as the sash that perfects virtue. The English title is the New International Version's.
Philology of 望みを抱いて喜び · 信仰と希望と愛 · 主は我が力 · 愛は全てを完全に結ぶ帯である · 始めに神は天と地を創造された
