Turtle

(kame)

The Japanese word kame translates as "turtle; tortoise" and is a single kanji. Also kame can be written in hiragana which I have done for a few examples that offset the simplicity of the word and, I feel, also aptly capture the beauty.

Verify: 亀 in the Japanese-English Dictionary
