More about 神を信ぜよ
Trust in God: at Mark 11:22 these are Jesus's own words to his disciples, the whole of the sentence he says before he goes on to the promise for whoever does not doubt, and that promise is the reader's to know. The Japanese is the sentence of the Meiji New Testament, to the character, and its verb is the older command form, 信ぜよ, of a verb whose everyday form today is 信じる. The English Bible's own words at the verse are have faith in God; trust in God and believe in God both say what the Japanese says, and the command is to the one who reads it.
The Japanese phrase "kami o shinzeyo" meaning "Trust in God, Believe in God" is composed of the words 神 (read kami) meaning "God" and 信ぜよ (read "shinzeyo"), the command form of 信ず, the older form of the verb 信じる (read shinjiru) meaning "trust in, believe in".
