旅人 tabibito Traveler
More about 旅人
旅人 is a traveler, a person on a journey. It also means a wayfarer or a tourist. The characters can be read more than one way, and tabibito is the usual one.
The Japanese word 旅人 meaning "Traveler" is composed of the kanji 旅 (read tabi) meaning "trip; travel" and 人 (read hito) meaning "person". Together they are read tabibito, because the sounds change where the characters meet: 人 hito becomes bito after 旅.
