The Japanese word fubuki is composed of the kanji吹 (read fu) meaning "blow; breathe; puff" and 雪 (read buki) meaning "snow". Note that the kanji for "snow" is common, but this reading is rare. The kanji for "snow" is normally read 雪 (read yuki).
