復讐 fukushū Revenge

復讐 is revenge, paying someone back for a wrong. It can also be a verb, to take revenge. A person who takes revenge, an avenger, is 復讐者 (fukushūsha).

The Japanese word 復讐 meaning "Revenge" is composed of the kanji 復 (read fuku) meaning "restore; return to; revert" and 讐 (read shū) meaning "enemy; revenge".
