黙示 mokushi Revelation

黙示 is the showing of a hidden truth. In Christian use it is God making known what lies beyond human reach, and the Book of Revelation is 黙示録 (mokushiroku). The word's first sense in the dictionaries is plainer: something shown without being said, a wish made known without words.

The Japanese word 黙示 meaning "Revelation" is composed of the kanji 黙 (read moku) meaning "silence; become silent; stop speaking" and 示 (read shi) meaning "show; indicate; point out".
