再起 saiki Recovery

再起 is a comeback: you get back up after a fall and take up the fight again. The word for the opposite is 再起不能 (saiki funō), past all hope of recovery.

The Japanese word 再起 meaning "Recovery" is composed of the kanji 再 (read sai) meaning "again" and 起 (read ki) meaning "to get up".
