禁煙 kin'en Quit Smoking
More about 禁煙
禁煙 is giving up smoking for good. It is also a ban on smoking, as in 禁煙車 (kin'ensha), a car where no one may smoke. The same two kanji make the No Smoking sign in Japan, so the word is both a promise and a rule.
The Japanese word 禁煙 meaning "Quit Smoking" is composed of the kanji 禁 (read kin) meaning "forbid; ban; prohibit" and 煙 (read en) meaning "smoke; smoking".
