防具 bōgu Protective Equipment

防具 is protective gear: a guard, or a set of armor. In the martial arts it is the armor worn in practice, as in kendo.

The Japanese word 防具 meaning "Protective Equipment" is composed of the kanji 防 (read bō) meaning "protection" and 具 (read gu) meaning "equipment".
