忍耐 is patience of the enduring kind: bearing hardship or pain and holding on through it. To be very patient is 忍耐強い (nintaizuyoi).
The Japanese word 忍耐 meaning "Patience" is composed of the kanji忍 (read nin) meaning "endure; bear; put up with" and 耐 (read tai) meaning "endure; enduring".
