Mutual Benefit

自他共栄 (jita kyouei)

The Japanese phrase 自他共栄 (commonly written in English as "Jita Kyoei") is a Judo term meaning "mutual welfare and prosperity". The phrase is composed of the words 自他 (read jita) meaning "oneself and others" and 共栄 (read kyouei) meaning "mutual prosperity". This along with 精力善用 seiryoku zen'yo meaning "maximum efficiency - minimum effort" are fundamental Judo concepts.
