愛憎 aizō Love and Hate

愛憎 is love and hate together, two feelings held at once. A love-hate relationship is 愛憎関係 (aizō kankei), and to love and hate someone in equal measure is 愛憎相半ばする (aizō ai nakaba suru).

The Japanese word 愛憎 meaning "Love and Hate" is composed of the kanji 愛 (read ai) meaning "love; affection" and 憎 (read zō) meaning "hate; detest".
