Life finds a way, or more exactly, life opens one.

More about 命は道を拓く
命は道を拓く says that life does not wait for a way; it breaks one open. 拓く is to open in the land-clearing sense, to break new ground. Life clears its own path the way a settler clears a field. 命 is the life of a living thing, so the line reads of life as a whole and of one life at once. The English is Ian Malcolm's line in Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park.
The Japanese is the house's, and 拓く is the verb that keeps Malcolm's meaning: in his sentence, life makes its way.
We want you to be as happy with the meaning as you are with Master Takase's art. To learn more, visit Philology of 命は道を拓く.
