Lawyer

弁護士 (bengoshi)

The Japanese word 弁護士 meaning "Lawyer" is composed of the words 弁護 (read bengo) meaning "advocacy; defense; pleading" and (read shi) meaning "person". This word, like most Japanese words, is not gender specific and so may be used like the English word "lawyer" to mean either a male or female lawyer.
