拳法 kenpō Kempo

拳法 is kempo, a martial art of the fist. The same word also names the Chinese martial arts known in English as kung fu.

The Japanese word 拳法 meaning "Kempo" is composed of the kanji 拳 (read ken) meaning "fist" and 法 (read hō) meaning "method; law; rule". Together they are read kenpō, because the sounds change where the characters meet: 法 hō becomes pō after 拳.
