無限 mugen Infinite

無限 is having no end to how many or how much. The Daijisen dictionary gives 無限の空間 (mugen no kūkan), endless space, and 無限に続く (mugen ni tsuzuku), to go on and on. Its opposite is 有限 (yūgen), that which has an end. Infinity is also 無限大 (mugendai).

The Japanese word 無限 meaning "Infinite" is composed of the kanji 無 (read mu) meaning "not; no; nothing" and 限 (read gen) meaning "limit; restriction".
