夫婦 fūfu Husband and Wife

夫婦 is a married couple, husband and wife together. Harmony between them is 夫婦の和 (fūfu no wa). The same kanji can also be read meoto, as in 夫婦茶碗 (meotojawan), a pair of his and hers teacups.

The Japanese word 夫婦 meaning "Husband and Wife" is composed of the kanji 夫 (read fū) meaning "husband, man" and 婦 (read fu) meaning "wife, lady, woman".
