女力 (meriki)
The Japanese kanji combination 女力 meaning "Girl Power" is worn by several stars and is composed of the kanji 女 (read me) meaning "woman; female; girl" and 力 (read riki) meaning "strong; powerful".
The kanji 女 (read me) for "woman" was originally the pictograph of a woman on her knees in supplication. This inspired Ms. Takase to create this original design of a woman standing with her arm raised above her head in defiance.
