努力 doryoku Effort

努力 is effort and hard work, the push to reach a goal. A hard worker is a 努力家 (doryokuka). What your work earns you is 努力の賜物 (doryoku no tamamono), the fruit of your labor.

The Japanese word 努力 meaning "Effort" is composed of the kanji 努 (read do) meaning "as much as possible, toil" and 力 (read ryoku) meaning "power; strength; exertion".
