A dream comes true.
夢が叶う is the everyday Japanese sentence for a dream coming true, the one any speaker would say. Worn as a tattoo, it keeps a dream in front of you until it comes true.
夢が叶う is what a Japanese speaker says when something long hoped for finally happens. 夢 here is a hope, not a dream in sleep, and 叶う is the verb for a wish granted. 叶 is the character people write for it. Whether it is for a dream that came true or for one you are still working toward is yours.
夢が叶う is composed of the words 夢 (read yume) meaning "dreams", the grammatical element が (read ga) which indicates the previous word is the subject, and the verb 叶う (read kanau) meaning "to come true".
We want you to be as happy with the meaning as you are with Master Takase's art. To learn more, visit Philology of 夢が叶う.
