運命 unmei Destiny

運命 is destiny, the course of a life that seems set beyond your choosing. It also means fate and your lot in life. The same characters can also be read sadame, with the same meaning.

The Japanese word 運命 meaning "Destiny" is composed of the kanji 運 (read un) meaning "destiny; fate; luck" and 命 (read mei) meaning "life; fate; destiny; command".
