献身 kenshin Dedication

献身 is devotion to a person or a cause, given even when it costs you. Its two characters mean to offer yourself. It can also be a verb, to devote yourself. A person who gives like this is 献身的 (kenshinteki), devoted and self-sacrificing.

The Japanese word 献身 meaning "Dedication" is composed of the kanji 献 (read ken) meaning "dedicate; offer" and 身 (read shin) meaning "body; life".
