親愛 shin'ai Dear

親愛 is warm, close affection for another person. It is the dear of 親愛なる友よ (shin'ai naru tomo yo), my dear friend.

The Japanese word 親愛 meaning "Dear" is composed of the kanji 親 (read shin) meaning "intimacy; familiarity; parent" and 愛 (read ai) meaning "love; affection".
