慈善 jizen Charity

慈善 is charity: help and care given to people in need. A charity group is 慈善団体 (jizen dantai), and one who gives a lot is 慈善家 (jizenka).

The Japanese word 慈善 meaning "Charity" is composed of the kanji 慈 (read ji) meaning "mercy" and 善 (read zen) meaning "virtuous; good; goodness".
