煩悩 (bonnou)

The Japanese word 煩悩 also means "(wordly) desires", "Desires (of the flesh)" and "Passions" and is composed of the kanji (read bon) meaning "illness; trouble" and (read nou) meaning "pain; distress". This is also used as a translation for the Buddhist concept of "klesha" or "polluting thoughts such as greed, hatred and delusion, which result in suffering".
