兄弟 kyōdai Brothers

兄弟 means brothers, and more widely brothers and sisters. Among men it can also mean a close friend, and a sworn brother is a 兄弟分 (kyōdaibun).

The Japanese word 兄弟 meaning "Brothers" is composed of the kanji 兄 (read kyō) meaning "older brother(s)" and 弟 (read dai) meaning "younger brother(s)".
