女傑 joketsu Brave Woman

女傑 is a woman of firm spirit and fine judgment who acts on what she decides. It is a word of praise, and English renders it as heroine or great woman.

The Japanese word 女傑 meaning "Brave Woman" is composed of the kanji 女 (read jo) meaning "woman; female; girl" and 傑 (read ketsu) meaning "greatness; excellence".
