備えよ常に (sonae yo tsuneni)

備えよ常に (sonae yo tsune ni) meaning "Be Prepared" is the Japanese rendering of the Scout motto. It joins 備えよ (sonae yo), the imperative of the verb 備える (sonaeru) "to prepare, to be ready", with 常に (tsune ni) "always": always be ready.
