The Japanese word 米国 meaning "America" also translates as "United States, USA, United States of America" and is composed of the kanji米 (read bei) meaning "rice, USA" and 国 (read koku) meaning "country". One also commonly sees America translated to katakana as アメリカ (read amerika) and less commonly the archaic kanji form 亜米利加 (Read amerika).
Each design is Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase's hand-brushed calligraphy of the word or phrase on this page, delivered as a PDF you can print. Every PDF includes the line art, so a tattoo artist or a craftsperson can work from the outline as well as the brushed image.
